WST Swim Team Important Updates

Parents,

As we come into the last week of our swim season there are several important reminders and updates. Please read all the way through!

  • If your child(ren) is swimming in Qualifications and likely to swim in Champs, don't forget you are required to volunteer. The slate wipes clean at this point, we need all hands on deck. Sign up in Swimtopia.
  • Don't forget the themes our coaches chose for the meets - ALL BLUE for Quals and Super Heroes for Champs. Parents, join the fun!
  • Please RSVP for the Pasta Dinner on Saturday, July 14th at the pool, and don't forget Kona Ice will be at practice this Tuesday.
  • No morning practice for any kids 10 & Younger on Thursday morning. All other practices are as normal.
  • My multimedia assistant (Lainey!) is putting the slideshow together this year - please email good photos to [email protected] - edit and send just your favorites!
  • Champs Celebration for all families at the pool on Sunday, July 15 @ 4:00PM
  • Banquet for all swim families at the pool on Monday, July 16 @ 6:00PM - Details to follow, RSVPs will be needed, but not open yet.
  • If you'd like to contribute to coaches gifts, please do so in Swimtopia and I will divide amongst them - let's show them how much we love our coaches!

Finally, thank you all for another great season! I have a few changes of note for next summer:

  • As you know, Christina will not be returning as head coach. We will put together a team of parents to make coaching decisions, please let me know if you'd like to be included.
  • Ashley Frey will be stepping down as our Team Treasurer after many, many years. This is a low-impact volunteer position, but does fulfill your family's volunteer requirements. Let me know if you are interested in taking over and Ashley will show you the ropes.
  • Finally, I have some news of my own....I recently accepted a job at Sacred Heart Schools and will be working full time starting this Wednesday! I have loved being at the helm of this amazing team, but know that I will not have the time to devote to it as I have for the past four years. Dan and I are committed to WST and will continue on as the technology team for meets including running Meet Central and all Audio needs. I will need someone to take over as President - handling communications to team and coaches and other clerical tasks. It can be one person or a team, and really each president(s) has the ability to make it his or her own. I'll always be here for questions and consultation, I know I won't be able to keep my hands out of things! ;) Please let me know if you're interested in finding out more and don't forget that your swimmers will join the team free of charge if you are president!

Let's have a great last week and cheer on our sweet kiddos
