Hello Woods families!!

I have great news and not so great news from tonight’s qualifications.

GREAT NEWS. Everyone who was on the heat sheet tonight has made it into the championship meet on Sunday and has a chance to swim for a 1st-16th place medal. The events that were completed tonight will swim a consolation and final heat (17, 18, 19) with the results that were obtained tonight. The other events will be swimming timed finals of all heats. So, what we need to know from you is if you plan on coming to the meet Sunday. Please let the coaches, Jennie Perkins, or me know by tomorrow at noon if your child will NOT be coming. The coaches are doing the relay entries tomorrow after practice.

NOT SO GREAT NEWS. These meets are run by volunteers and tonight there was an embarrassing event that took place that reflects poorly on our club and parents and can potentially effect our participation in champs. We only had to provide 8 volunteers to the meet (plus age group parents) and I tried to choose easy jobs because we have a lot of new families that may not know how to do some jobs. We had no one sign up for clerk of course, or place judge (2), and  only two timers signed up out of four. There were talks of disqualifying our swimmers because we did not provide what was needed. 

We have many families who regularly volunteer and we have not overlooked your contribution and profusely thank you. However, If your child is swimming in champs you must work. If we cannot provide the needed volunteers, we could be disqualified especially since all eyes will be on us after tonight.

Please help the team out.
1. Notify the coaches, Jen, or me if your child will not be there on Sunday.
2. Sign up for a volunteer spot. If the spots are not filled we will place parents where needed.
