Hello,

WST Swim Team is preparing to open up summer swim team registration! (Hopefully by this weekend). We hope you all can join us. Caroline Bonn will be returning as our Head Coach this year!! We are so excited to have her back! We are looking forward to a great summer and seeing your smiling faces! 

We petitioned to move down leagues, and our petition was denied, so we will be staying in Division 2 this summer. We aim to have fun, build team unity, and improve our times. Themes will be coming for each meet, so make sure to be ready.

Louisville Swim Association voted to switch to Meet Maestro to manage/run our meets. This new system is compatible with Swimtopia. This change is a good thing as Swimmingly's price kept increasing substantially. This change will be new to the whole division, not just our team. We need volunteers to learn the system to run the meet. We are waiting on training times. We have to have this for home meets and are supposed to help with away meets. LSA would like both teams at the table in case there is a discrepancy. 

As you know, WE are a volunteer organization. Only our coaches are paid. We have around 150-200 swimmers in the water during a dual meet. It takes about 90 volunteers (between both teams) to run a meet for the evening. We must have volunteers to make the meet run smoothly and on time and for our swimmers to be able to swim. When you sign up, you commit to working four meets and being on a committee. Over the last two summers, we have not had committees for our swim team. We are re-instating committees again and require that at least one family member participate on a committee.  

We also need Stroke and Turn Judges for every meet. It is not hard and you have the best view of the pool! Trainings will be coming soon, so please watch for those. The more we have, the less you have to work. This is required by LSA that we have two at each meet.
